BedWars is a game played on Minecraft (since 2017) or Roblox servers (since 2021). It's a team game where you start on an island and must protect your bed and build bridges to attack other teams' beds. The trick is the ecosystem of items and crafting you need to quickly work through to get the upper hand. It's one of the most popular Roblox games getting over 1 billion visits a year (in 2022).

Our accessibility examiner, Ben Kendall, first checked BedWars (Roblox) accessibility 2 years ago. It was re-examined by Andy Robertson and updated 2 years ago.

NotesAccessibility Notes

Depending on the server you play on the game and mechanics will vary slightly, but a constant is the focus on high performance and quick and precise reactions. As the rounds are time-limited, there is also pressure to be as quick as you can.

If you have a screen reader enabled on your platform, Minecraft will automatically enable menu UI narration when the game is launched.

The Minecraft Launcher includes audio cues to help players navigate the login and launch experience. To enable audio cues on the Minecraft Launcher, use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+B. You should hear a sparkle ringing sound to confirm that the sound is enabled.

You can toggle auto jump to make it easier to get around and you can toggle crouching to be either a click or a hold action.

Most of the text in the game is large and contrasts well in menus, but sometimes text is overlaid directly over gameplay which can make it hard to read. Most servers will have a filter in place on the chat to remove profanity.
