Play OverviewPlay Overview

Disney Infinity (2013) is an action game with themed adventures around iconic Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars characters. Players unlock content in the game with physical figurines and PlaySet pieces placed onto a Base peripheral plugged into the console or PC. It offers well-designed and really entertaining versions of all manner of popular franchises.

Like Skylanders, Lego Dimensions and Starlink, this game isn't being developed further. But can still be played and the figures can be found very cheaply second-hand. You can still play the game, and create your own experiences in the Toy Box creator mode, but you can't go online or share your creations.

The game was released in waves over three years. Disney Infinity 1.0:
  • Pirates of the Caribbean
  • Monsters University
  • The Incredibles
  • Cars
  • The Lone Ranger
  • Toy Story in Space

Wave 2 was Disney Infinity 2.0:
  • The Avengers
  • Spider-Man
  • Guardians of the Galaxy

Wave 3 was Disney Infinity 3.0:
  • Star Wars: Twilight of the Republic
  • Star Wars: Rise Against the Empire
  • Star Wars: The Force Awakens
  • Inside Out
  • Finding Dory
  • Marvel Battlegrounds

Play Time: This game will take between 5 hours and 6 hours to complete. It takes about 6 hours to finish one of the PlaySets you get in the Start Packs. Additional PlaySets (found cheaply second hand) will extend this substantially. Also, the game creator Toy Box mode adds many hours of creativity.

Age RatingsAge Ratings

Content Rating

Rated PEGI 7 for violence that lacks any apparent harm or injury to fantasy or mythical beings and creatures, mild violence. All the violence in this game is directed at toy characters which disintegrate when defeated. You have the ability to perform special attacks which are introduced via a small cut-scene. However, the violent act itself isn’t as impactful as the cut scene that introduces it. The normal attacks consist of punches, shooting lasers and other projectiles towards the enemy. Upon impact, characters flinch or are knocked back. When they are defeated, they fall apart into small pieces which disappear after a short time. The game features a scary bad guy which could be frightening to younger children, but the character is not scary enough to warrant a PEGI fear descriptor.

8+ year-olds usually have the required skill to enjoy this game. Still, it’s important for parents and guardians to ensure they understand in-game purchases and have spending limits set-up.
