Play OverviewPlay Overview

Everspace (2017) 2 is a space shooting and exploration game. You travel star systems, gaining goods and items from the planets you find, but soon encounter a unravelling narrative that draws you in. Unlike other space games, it combines elements of open world exploration, resource gathering and the epic space battles.

You are Adam Roslin, a military clone pilot, on a journey to understand what it is to be a human. As one of many copies, and with no memory of your many past selves, you grow to become a unique individual with memories and experiences. With this comes the realisation that death will have real consequences and will mean losing all you have learned. This combination of nuanced story and the expanse of space makes for a unique experience.

The battles are a defining aspect of the game. Dog fights and epic chases in atmospheres, asteroids, cities and the deep black of empty space. Along with this the game offers almost endless choices of what you can do: explore star systems, loot, shoot and craft.

The original Everspace game launched in 2017. The sequel builds on this experience and continues the first game's story, which sets up Roslin's desire to live a unique life. While playing the first is not necessary to enjoy the second, both will appeal to fans of the sci-fi genre. Everspace 2 is currently on early access on PC and Mac, it will be coming to other platforms upon its full release in 2022.
