Play Overview
Everyday Shooter (2008) is a collection of shooting games presented as a music album. The shooting action is familiar but here the dissolute sounds of destruction are replaced with guitar riffs harmonizing over the soundtrack. The visuals join in the art-piece-like experience as modulating shapes celebrate the flowing beauty of geometry.
Play involves clearing enemies from the different levels, each with a unique musical, graphical, and gameplay style. You use one stick to move around and another stick to aim your bullets. Shoot to trigger musical sounds and riffs that combine to form the final soundscape of the game. Use points earned in the game to unlock extra lives, shuffle mode, and different visual filters.
The result is an unusual game to play that offers not only a shooting challenge but one that is strangely calming.
