Play OverviewPlay Overview

F1 Race Stars (2012) is a racing game loosely based on the 2012 Formula One season. The tracks may have loops, jumps and shortcuts and the drivers may look a little stylised but the kart-style racing is actually pretty convincing.

It's like Mario Kart but with an F1 theme. You choose your Formula One racing drivers from the 12 teams of 2 that started the 2012 season. There are 11 different circuits based on the real-world versions although with a little more excitement added in. As you race, you pick up boosts and weapons to beat the other players. There's a full Championship career mode, online race mode, and fastest lap time trials.

On iOS and Android, there's a more recent, and simpler version of F1 Race Stars. This is a brand new game designed for mobile but still offers a substantial experience complete with multiplayer support if you have separate controllers to connect -- which works well if playing with Apple TV or Chromecast to see the game on your television.

Our examiner, Andy Robertson, first checked F1 Race Stars 3 years ago. It was re-examined by Jo Robertson and updated 7 weeks ago.
