Play Overview
Fight Crab (2020) is a fighting game where you battle with weaponised crabs. But rather than pressing buttons to pull off moves, you have to work with the game’s over-the-top physics. This combines with giant crustaceans, insane weapons and claws to create skill-based absurd combat.
There are 23 types of playable crab, 48 different weapons, and 11 unique battle arenas. You can fight against one or two opponents and team up with a friend in online co-op battle modes. As you progress you unlock moves, crabs and weapons. You can use the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con motion controls to freely manipulate limbs to punch, grab, and flip your way to victory.
The controls are intentionally obtuse. The D-pad moves your crab and you can double-tap to move quicker. The left and right sticks control a claw each for attacking and the trigger buttons punch while the bumper buttons pinch. This means that movement and attacks rely on a combination of luck and well-intentioned flailing, like Goat Simulator, I Am Bread or Octodad.
