Play OverviewPlay Overview

Gang Beasts (2017) is an over-the-top brawling game where you play wobbly characters who kick, throw, push, pull and pummel up to seven other rivals to win. The game models real physics so you have to work with the grappling and jelly-like bodies to both get around and land any attacks.

Because you can also push and pull each other around, it becomes a game of tactical mayhem. Switch at the last minute to duck and attack or send someone pushing you over the edge of a building.

There are four different modes to play. Melee mode is an open free-for-all all fight where the first to 3 wins is victorious. Gang mode is a team-up battle where you work with other players on the same side to win. Wave mode pits you and other players against waves of computer-controlled characters to see how long you can survive. Soccer mode is a game of football where you are also allowed to attack the players as well as the ball.

Our examiner, Andy Robertson, first checked Gang Beasts 3 years ago. It was re-examined by Jo Robertson and updated 2 days ago.

Rated PEGI 7 for violence that lacks any apparent harm or injury to fantasy or mythical beings and creatures. Players need to throw their opponents off platforms and be the last player standing. This involves some comical punching and grabbing. Due to the characters being gelatinous punching bags, the impact of this violence is limited.

Users Interact: The game enables players to interact and communicate with each other, so may expose players to language usually associated with older rated games.

Skill Level

8+ year-olds usually have the required skill to enjoy this game. Really young players can have fun messing around and laughing at the rag-doll characters. However, to do well in the game and progress you actually need some control and fighting skills. Younger players need to be happy for opponents to attack them and be a bit mean.
