Play OverviewPlay Overview

Granny (2017) is a horror adventure game where you are locked in a house by a creepy grandma. You wake up in a dark room and have to carefully work your way through the house to escape without being caught. It's noted for the tense gameplay and jump scares.

Play involves exploration and creeping around trying not to make noise or be spotted. The main door is covered with different locks so you have to find the keys and other objects to unlock the door and escape.

If the Granny hears you dropping items or walking on creaky floorboards she starts running to the place she heard that sound. You also need to watch out for her bear traps and other things lurking in the dark, like her pets.

You can hide in wardrobes and coffins but be careful that she does not see you where you are hiding. You can also protect yourself with one of the two weapons you can find, but this only slows her down for a short period.

Granny: Chapter Two is similar to the original, but introduces a secondary antagonist, Grandpa, who has limited hearing capabilities and will not be alerted by most sounds. There are also new items and weapons. This is available on Android and iOS.

Granny 3 further developers the game with a larger property, a Mansion. This has trickier obstacles and dangers with a moat and vicious creature. This is only available on Android "as the Apple company considers the game a “spam” and it is too similar to the other Granny games."

Our examiner, Andy Robertson, first checked Granny 2 years ago. It was re-examined by Jo Robertson and updated 18 months ago.
