Play Overview
My Child Lebensborn (2018) is a narrative role-play game where you nurture a Lebensborn child in Norway after World War II who faces a hostile community because they’ve been born to parents of both occupied and occupying forces. With meagre resources yourself, you must feed, clothe and bathe the child, but more importantly, help them cope with the heavy inheritance of German soldier genes in a country celebrating its freedom. The child faces not only a challenge of identity and guilt but bullying from teachers as well as classmates.
The demeanour of the child as they cope with the situation requires the player to make good decisions in terms of emotional care and more practical help in matters of food, hygiene and money.
Our examiner, Andy Robertson, first checked My Child Lebensborn 4 years ago. It was re-examined by Ellen Robertson and updated 4 weeks ago.
