Play OverviewPlay Overview

Ridiculous Fishing (2013) is a fishing and shooting game. Unlike any other fishing game, this isn't a sedate wait for the fish to bite. You frantically collect fish on the hook, and then when they reach the surface it turns into a clay pigeon shoot, where you must shoot the fish to collect them. Running through the craziness is a story about Billy who tries to find redemption from his uncertainty and find his destiny on a high seas quest for glory and gills.

Drop the hook from your boat and try to descend as far as you can without hitting any fish. Tilt the device to manoeuvre the hook. As soon as you hook a fish the hook rises and this is when you start collecting as many fish as you can. When the anchor reaches the surface the fish explode into the air and then you shoot them with a tap of the finger.

As you progress you use the money you get for catching and shooting fish, to upgrade your fishing equipment and weaponry. This lets you fish deeper with a longer line, or have a more effective weapon. It also lets you turn fish into hats to adorn your character. Try to find rare fish, and get deeper into the ocean until you hit the ocean floor.

A fun mobile game that is simple to understand but has constant little surprises to keep your interest. The ridiculousness of the experience of machine-gunning fish somehow coalesce to a coherent whole that tells a story about family and redemption.
