Play OverviewPlay Overview

Supermarket Shriek (2019) is a kart racing game where you control a shopping trolley with a goat co-pilot. You have to navigate through obstacles and challenges in a range of shops, boutiques and supermarkets.

Because the goat is driving you can only control things by screaming. Press the left trigger to make the goat scream and turn left, and press the right trigger to scream yourself and turn right. Press both triggers, to both scream and propel yourself forward.

The levels are intentionally quite difficult and if you fail you have to start from the beginning. It's zany silly fun but actually has quite a lot of skill to it as well as you need to communicate with the other player. You can even up the ante by using two microphones in co-op mode to control the shouting with actually, well, shouting. Or use the co-op mode to play the game by each having one "shout" button to press.

Our examiner, Andy Robertson, first checked Supermarket Shriek 3 years ago. It was re-examined by Jo Robertson and updated 8 weeks ago.

Content Rating

Rated PEGI 3 for ccasional, very mild violence in a comical or abstract context. Standard gameplay consists of negotiating an obstacle-ridden environment. Obstacles include (fire) pits, swinging axes, clothing racks, moving platforms, conveyor belts and much more. Notably, being struck by a swinging axe or falling into lava still leads to the same result: the characters fly out of the cart and the screen goes black.
