Play OverviewPlay Overview

Tallowmere (2015) is a series of running, jumping and fighting games. You aim to get a high score as you journey through a vast, randomly generated 2D retro-style dungeon, dodging traps and killing enemies in gory and unusual ways. Its unique combination of platforming and real-physics fighting mechanics are simple to grasp, yet can take a long time to perfect, offering a fresh new challenge to master.

At the behest of the mysterious Lady Tallowmere, you explore the varied dungeons and fight all manner of enemies using your limited arsenal of weapons; a shield, axe and bow and arrow. As you progress you can use coins you collect from your victories to purchase new gear, power-ups and tools from merchants. You'll also encounter kittens, which you can rescue or sacrifice for a boost.

Unlike other platform games, you can jump in mid-air as many times as you like enabling you to almost fly. At the same time, though, you must use your shield to block incoming attacks and return fire to kill your opponents in an explosion of blood and loot. Other intricacies extend your controls, like holding up the shield offering a small jump when required.

Strategy and practice with each enemy type help you defeat them and ensure minimal damage. Each section of the dungeon is progressively harder, so alongside regular enemies, you'll encounter bosses that will put your skills to the test. Once you die you are sent back to the beginning and must try again to better your previous run.
