Tell Me Why (2020) is a narrative game following the story of twins Tyler and Alyson Ronan, as they unravel the truth about their childhood and why they were separated. It's a story about the impact of families and the lengths we go to make them right.

Played by exploring locations, interacting with objects and talking to residents, the twins revisit their Alaska home and relive supernatural projections helping build a narrative to what happened. Your choices influence the story, such as when they see different projections of the past, you can choose which one you believe to be true.

As well as guiding what characters say and do, you can influence their sexuality through multiple choices through the game. Protagonist Tyler is Transgender, something of a first for a big budget video game. It offers a new way to understand this experience of gender identity. The developer and Xbox Game Studios conducted on-the-ground research and partnered closely with cultural, mental health and gender advocates to craft a thoughtful, true-to-life experience.

Our examiner, Jo Robertson, first checked Tell Me Why 3 years ago. It was re-examined by Andy Robertson and updated 8 weeks ago.
