Play Overview
Zip Zap (2016) is a puzzle game with a simple premise. You move Erector/Meccano-style metal plates to get a ball in a white circle for at least a couple of seconds. It sounds simple. It is simple, although actually, it soon becomes head scratching to get the various cogs, levers and metal strips to cooperate
Play is always focused on bending and snapping back the two sprung plates. You tap to contract and change the angle of their connection, and release to let them return to original positions. The genius is the real physics of the game. By simply bending you can flick things, whack things, hang and dangle, gain momentum and lots else besides.
The result is a steadily evolving series of puzzle that are equally infuriating and inviting. There are over 100 levels that continue to take things in interesting directions.
Our examiner, Andy Robertson, first checked Zip Zap 2 years ago. It was re-examined by Jo Robertson and updated 22 months ago.
