Play OverviewPlay Overview

Beast Breaker (2021) is a role play game where you fight monsters in turn-based ricochet style puzzles. You play tiny mouse hero Skipper and must defend your friends from giant mosaic-like beasts that threaten to destroy everything.

Play involves talking to characters, making choices about upgrades and taking on quests. Combat is where this really stands out. Battles are turn-based so you can take your time to aim Peggle or Puzzle Bobble style shots to bounce off the different tiles that make up these beasts.

It's a fascinating challenge where you need to plan your angle and weapons to hit in the exact right spot of the enemy. You also need to work hard to craft weapons and complete missions move the story forwards.

The result is a vibrant game full of unusual animal-based characters. It stays true to its role-playing roots, but weaves in its unusual pinball attack-mechanic to ensure this remains front and centre. You have 4 unique fighting styles to master (Sword, Bow, Hammer, and Throwing Knives), as well as being able to mix and match hundreds of weapon components.

Our examiner, Andy Robertson, first checked Beast Breaker 2 years ago. It was re-examined by Jo Robertson and updated 22 months ago.
