Play OverviewPlay Overview

Argument Wars (2016) is an adventure game where you play a lawyer in a U.S. Supreme Court. It's a card game that recreates constitutional arguments behind some important historical cases.

Play involves you choosing which side to argue for and then developing a position using some of the same arguments that were actually made. You then have four rounds to convince the justices of their side. Support cards build the heart and impact of your case. Action cards then offer strategic elements and you can use Object cards to call out mistakes by opponents.

The result is a finely balanced deck-building game that also teaches players about the process of law and justice. The simple to read cards enable you to create a unique case for each defendant or prosecutor. In the end, the player with the most points is declared the winner. The game then describes what actually happened in that historic case, and students can see a certificate that summarizes their gameplay.

Our examiner, Andy Robertson, first checked Argument Wars 2 years ago. It was re-examined by Jo Robertson and updated 2 years ago.
