Play OverviewPlay Overview

Rhythm Paradise (2008) (also known as Rhythm Heaven, Rhythm World and Rhythm Tengoku) is a Japanese rhythm game where you perform everyday action in time with a musical beat.

You press buttons or use the touch screen to trigger timed actions. The DS version of the game is played vertically, like a book. The levels are all relatively short and each has its own aesthetic and rules. The timing and nuance of interactions develop as the game progresses. It soon includes not only taps and presses but holding the stylus down on the touch screen, dragging it across the screen and flicking it off the screen.

To clear a level you need to hit enough beats to get a high enough score. You can also return to levels to see if you can improve your performance. For experts, you are offered a limited chance to achieve a Perfect run on particular levels.

The series has a cult following. Following the Japan-only Game Boy Advance title Rhythm Tengoku, Rhythm Heaven Fever was released on the Wii and Rhythm Heaven Megamix for the Nintendo 3DS.
