Days Gone is a survival adventure game set in a post-pandemic Oregon. You roam an open world pulsing with life (and zombies). It's unusual for its scale and sheer number of enemies. Add to that the changing light and weather and Days Gone creates a world that draws you in.

External examiner, Jibb Smart, first checked Days Gone accessibility 2 years ago. It was re-examined by Ben Kendall and updated a year ago.

NotesAccessibility Notes

There are plenty of different difficulty levels you can choose from, ranging from Easy to Hard II, as well as the more difficult Survival and Survival II game modes, which prohibit the use of fast travel. You'll need to be able to quickly react to changes in the environment, and some sections will require more than one input at once or, in other places, long presses.

While there are some areas where text is small and can be hard to make out, the subtitles can be adjusted to be large and clear. The game world can appear low in contrast i several places and scenarios.

You can swap a select few controls, and you can make crouching a toggle instead of a hold. However, there are still some other areas where you'll need to hold down the button even if you have this enabled. You can disable the need to repeatedly press the same button in the menu.

There is an enemy that gives an audio cue without an accompanying visual one, so this may present a challenge for deaf or hard of hearing gamers.
