NotesAccessibility Notes

Apprentice level difficulty (easier) can be selected after the tutorial.

One of the core mechanics is that you can "cheat" by using your life essence to modify almost anything in the game in your favor. Some of these options are not introduced or explained well in the tutorials, but there is a list of all of them and their costs in the spellbook. These abilities dramatically affect combat and your progress through the game, and this level of control over the mechanical elements of the game that are usually "behind-the-scenes" creates a higher cognitive load than many games in the genre.

The mini-map shows symbols for the type of encounters ahead of that you can choose from in upcoming regions, and as you approach an region you can toggle the infotips about the type of encounter and any bonuses or penalty effects that are active. There is also a collapsible menu on the left side of the HUD where you can check your progress and any effects present in your region, which allows you some customization of the amount of information shown on-screen at any time.
