Play Overview
A Highland Song is a narrative adventure where you explore a maze of crisscrossing routes through the hills of the Highlands. You are 15-year-old Moira who lives with her mum on the edge of the hills and receives a letter inviting her to come to the coast. It's a unique combination of timing, choices and the call of the deep wild.
Play involves running, jumping and climbing your way from one peak to the next. As you go you discover routes well-trodden and others hidden away—that are filled with stories, lost things, echoes, and memories. Giants sleep, ghosts sing, crows carry messages, and eagles lift the dead. At the tops of the mountains you have a moment to choose our next route, before hopping, sliding and jumping back through the valleys in time with the music.
It's a game about a journey where you can lose yourself, find harmony. You need to jump and move in time with the music, but you also need to make careful choices about your journey that affect the narrative you discover. You make the trip many times and in each one you to discover more of the Highlands' deepest secrets.
