Play OverviewPlay Overview

Ancient Dangers: A Bat's Tale (2021) is an action puzzle adventure. You play Scoria, a female orc, searching for a herb that will stop her Granny from snoring. However, the plant can only be found in a castle guarded by dragons. With your sword and shield and guided by Herb the Bat you explore, collect keys, coins and health potions. Along the way you must solve pressure pad puzzles to unlock doors and bombs to tear down walls.

Gameplay includes pressing the square button to wield your sword. Holding the button will charge the attack, while pressing furiously will create a combination attack. You can attack barrels and boxes to obtain coins, but sometimes these can contain enemies instead.

There are locked-room puzzles, where you need to think logically to blow up walls, pull levers, and put objects onto pressure pads in order to get to a different area. There are three levels to complete which are unlocked as you play. Tutorials are incorporated into the first level. There are also handy game playing tips to be found in the notes left with the remains of earlier explorers.

The result is a cute fantasy adventure which, with the addition of the easier Fun mode, is suitable for players of all abilities.
