Overview
Arctico is a meditative, exploration and base-building game where you play a lone scientist on a quest to continue your mentor's legacy and grow food in the arctic. You explore the vast frigid wilds of the island of Arctico with your sledge dogs, create your research base and uncover the secrets left behind by other scientists. It's a 7 year labour of love by the developer, that now offers a unique way to both discover the arctic and what it means for the hopes of humanity.
After the world has run out of room for farming, a scientist heads out to the arctic island of Arctico in the hopes of cultivating food there. After this scientist, your mentor, passes away, you try and continue her work and complete her research. Through letters and objects you find, you gain an insight into her life, and uncover her many unfinished inventions and ideas.
You explore the vast, icy landscape on your sledge, with the help of your dogs, and can also travel by boat, plane and foot. In many ways like Subnautica, you can collect resources that you use to build tools and facilities, which you can move them and decorate them as you please. You can fish, go hunting for clues, uncover new crops which you can sell, or simply sit back and relax in the vast tundra unspoiled by human activity.
It's a unique game that balances exploration with narrative and discovery to create a novel and low-pressure game.

Accessibility
Our Arctico Accessibility Report documents 17 accessibility features:
Like Subnautica, this game lets you make your own way, without guiding you through any basics or fundamentals, instead letting you discover these things by yourself. This means that there aren't any tutorials.
Some of the text throughout the game is quite small and difficult to read. It is, however, generally high contrast.
Your tools give you visual directional cues by indicating the distance (which you can use to determine direction) to certain objectives and locations you need to go to, and many interactable objects also display a clearly visible bright orange indicator above them during gameplay.
As it is played in a frozen wasteland, much of the game is a very similar colour and it can subsequently be difficult to distinguish between objects.
