Clumsy Rush is a wacky obstacle course where you compete against friends and family to claim the crown and finish first. In addition to the bizarre obstacles, you must overcome the (intentionally confusing and finicky) controls, where each button moves a different leg. The simple concept, bright visuals and counter intuitive controls level the playing field for experts and beginners in the family.

Our accessibility examiner, Ben Kendall, first checked Clumsy Rush accessibility 19 months ago.

NotesAccessibility Notes

To move, you need to hold down one shoulder button on the controller to keep one foot planted while the other moves, then the other shoulder button. These controls cannot be changed. You often have do this many times in a short timeframe to move your character quickly. There are no time pressures to complete the stage quickly.

There is a very simple tutorial, which explains the game's concept using pictures that are simple to understand.

While most text is high-contrast, some sections, such as the word "pause" in the menu, are not. Most of the text is clear and fairly large, but not 1/20th the size of the screen.

While most objects in the game contrast each other well, some objects can blend in with specific backgrounds, like the crown on a yellow floor. Navigation is never an issue as each stage follows the same format. Backgrounds are bright and colourful, and some moving elements on the stage mean they can be distracting.
