From Women's
Perspective

Video games let you step into the shoes of someone else. For a long time, the lead characters were dominated by men but more recently games have offered protagonists of a wider set of genders. Still, there aren't loads that offer a woman hero who faces challenges and opportunities unique to her identity.

Inspired by Calliope Ryder's tweet we wanted to create a list of games that offered players this experience. These are games that "are stories that feel uniquely told from a woman's perspective".

This includes games like What Remains of Edith Finch which offer themes of pregnancy, motherhood and generational trauma told from a female perspective. Or games like Season: A Letter to the Future that offers a look at ancestors, memory and loss from a woman's perspective. Then there are games like Hindsight that offer a glimpse into the pressures on young women to be a certain way in society. Or games like Abzu that subvert our assumptions about identity.

This list includes 46 games from the last 15 years, with 1,893 likes. They come from a range of different genres and play-styles and are all good games if you want to play games from a woman's persepctive.
