Do Not Feed the Monkeys is an adventure game where you sit at a computer and spy on live video feeds of various events and characters. Your job is to gather information about "the monkeys" while also looking after your character's health and apartment rent.

The option for "Peeper Mode" is selectable at the beginning of the game only, which automates the resource management so you can focus on the observation component of the game. This makes it where you are not at risk of losing due to not paying bills or having enough money to upgrade, effectively making it an Easy Mode setting.

When you load a saved game you choose which day you would like to start from and there is no manual save option, which means any progress you gain on a day before exiting is lost.

There is an indicator for when activity begins happening on a camera that is an audible ding and a flashing light on a panel to indicate which camera, however the inidcator panel is quite often covered up with the other things you are working on and looking at so the audible ding is frequently the only indication you will have that activity has started in that area. The game is fully playable without that signal, but it will require more attentive tracking of your camera windows.
