Sable Accessibility Report

Sable is an adventure game where you play a young girl, Sable, alone in the world, but bravely exploring ancient monuments, ruined architecture, and fallen ships to uncover her place in it. It's an adventure without combat that calls you to find your story in the Dune-like desert.

There is no combat or damage in Sable, and you can not get hurt or die. You can save anywhere but you may sometimes have to retry a small section, for example if you fell off the top of a challenging climb.

The game map does not show very much information when you start the game but you discover things as you go. You have a compass available to pop open at any time (even while moving) that will has a ring around you with icons that point towards the direction of your hoverbike, currently tracked quests, and waypoints you have set. You can set waypoints for yourself while looking around, or while looking in the map.

There are multiple settings that affect the visual contrast and overall look of this game. The most dramatic differences can be seen by changing the Colours and Line Thickness Settings. The Colours setting has a High Visibility option that gives the game a much higher contrast environment and helps to make various people and places stand out more. There is also a Custom slider for this setting to further tweak it to best suit your preferences. The Thick setting on Line Weight also brings out detail in the environment by making the layers and different components easier to differentiate. These two features combined provide an option to really improve the overall visibility, which can be further refined with additional settings such as Field of View, Shadows Quality, and Draw Distance.

You can avoid the need for long button presses by turning off the "Hold to Hover" and "Hold to Accelerate" options in the Settings Menu. With these turned off, the accelerate button on your bike becomes a toggle control and you will be able to enter into hover mode with a double tap on the jump button. Unfortunately there is no setting that allows you to toggle the sprint button and it must be held down to activate.

Before and after conversations the character narrates the posture, tone and demeanour of those they spoke to.
