Tell Me Why is a narrative game following the story of twins Tyler and Alyson Ronan, as they unravel the truth about their childhood and why they were separated. It's a story about the impact of families and the lengths we go to make them right.

External examiner, Angela Hickman Newnham, first checked Tell Me Why accessibility 2 years ago. It was re-examined by Ben Kendall and updated 12 months ago.

NotesAccessibility Notes

All of the dialog and cinematics in Tell Me Why are fully-voiced with large, clear, high-contrast subtitle and closed captioning options available. However, some of the puzzles in the game involve the Book of Goblins, which has very small text that is extremely hard to read due to the size and artistic design. There is a "read" option that makes a text box appear for each page with that you can scroll through, and while this increases legibility significantly the text is still smaller than the rest of the game and not adjustable. There is an option to turn on a Dyslexia-Friendly font.

You can opt to disable required long-presses

You can turn on a high-contrast mode for the HUD, but this doesn't affect regular gameplay environments. Some elements in the game, such as a glowing ring indicating an interactable object, can be very small and hard to make out. The game is often low in contrast as well.
