Temple Run 2 is a running, jumping and dodging game where you race to escape a deadly beast. You collect coins and dodge obstacles by tilting and turn corners by swiping left or right. With continual updates that add new maps, characters, and cosmetics, and a straightforward, easy-to-understand gameplay loop, it's a massively popular game with broad appeal.

Our accessibility examiner, Ben Kendall, first checked Temple Run 2 (Series) accessibility 17 months ago.

NotesAccessibility Notes

Both tilting the device and swiping the screen are required to play, although rarely both at the same time. Sometimes you need to quickly swipe multiple times, especially later into a run, as you move faster the further you go. If you make a slight error, the monster catches up with you and appears at the bottom of the screen with a loud noise and a screen-shake effect that can be frightening.

During the events in the game, to unlock the limited-time characters and cosmetics you need to find a certain number of chests within the event time.

The minimal text in the game is all high contrast, but can also be quite small in places. When running, it can be difficult to discern the obstacles ahead to tp the low-contrast colours used throughout.
