The Sexy Brutale is a time-loop adventure puzzle where you play an elderly priest who wakes up in a mansion on the day of a masquerade party. As you explore you realise its inhabitants are being killed off one by one. It stands out for the murder mystery puzzle and your ability to play the same day over and over, to slowly learn about the mansion and the movements of each character.

External examiner, Angela Hickman Newnham, first checked The Sexy Brutale accessibility 23 months ago. It was re-examined by Angela Hickman Newnham and updated a year ago.

NotesAccessibility Notes

The Sexy Brutale has a useful tool for tracking game information built into the map feature. There is a scroll bar and time goes forward on it from noon-midnight. As you move the bar, the map of the house shows the paths and timing of all of the inhabitants that you have seen or heard from every time loops combined, so all of the information you are collecting through your exploration is building out a comprehensive timeline of events. This map also has the option to toggle on and off information you have learned, such as pins showing which doors you have learned security codes for.

You quickly gain the ability to set any clock in the mansion as your starting point for the day, and to use the watch to jump to other times of the day, making it easier to get around and to focus your efforts on a particular area or clue.
