Adventurous Eating (2022) is a game about discovering and exploring new kinds of food. Aimed at 3 to 6-year-olds, you play different mini-games to investigate foods with your senses. It's like a kid's TV Show with quirky characters, sing-along songs and inviting ways to interact with the food. It's a great way for youngsters to expand their appetite.
You pick your monster and head to Bub’s Food Party at Tasty Towers. Here there are lots of simple mini-games for each of the foods where you help your monster look, listen, taste, touch and smell the food. Play is simple taping to move around and then interact with the foods in different ways.
As you progress you get to know the different monsters at the party. While the game is, of course, food positive, not all the monsters like all the food (but they do all give them a go). Between the food exploration are some fun dance party songs that celebrate this approach to eating and sustenance. After the disco, you go home and get a sticker for your book showing what food you've explored today.
The game has been designed with child feeding specialist Dr Lucy Cooke and inspired by The SAPERE method. It helps children to learn new things about food using all five senses; sight, touch, smell, hearing and taste.
