Alt 254 is a minimalistic adventure game. Using just a few pixels, it boils down the elements of adventuring (exploration, chests, enemies and landscapes) to the absolute minimum visual representation.

The whole game is just 21x26 pixels but still creates a sense of wonder. Weapons and skills are reduced to the bare minimum too: you need precision, speed and wits to beat enemies and overcome all kinds of hazards.

The result is not only a deconstruction of a video game, but a chance to see how these games work regardless of the fidelity of the visuals. It's a chance to see how games work as well as go on a new adventure.

Each location is different and brings its own challenges. As you progress you find broken pieces of your memory -- glimpses of a lost past, like a shattered mirror, its pieces scattered around the world. Maybe when you find them all, you will understand who you are and why you are here.
