Carrion is a horror game where you play the amorphous alien as well as human protagonists. This reverse-horror scenario puts you in control of an organic tentacled monster to make your way through the facility, stalking and killing humans in your path.

It's an unusual premise, playing the bad guy. And here you do it in the most graphic and blood curdling way. But more than just gratuitous violence, stepping into the alien's shoes cleverly subverts all those Alien films as you start to care about the red bubbling biomass that moves in believable squeamish fashion. Add to this the emotive cinematic music and it's really atmospheric.

As the game progresses, you gain more abilities to get to the deeper parts of each levels and grow in size. As you do you get glimpses of the humans at the base, taking control of them as they investigate the infestation. Eventually, the creature returns to its initial containment area and absorbs the last piece of its stolen genetics, allowing it to totally reconstitute a human form as the scientist it originally infected. The disguised creature then escapes the facility into what is revealed to be a partially quarantined Seattle.

Rated PEGI 18 for scenes of bloody violence in an arcade setting. The player's character takes the form of a tentacled creature which attacks and eats its human adversaries. When humans are attacked, blood effects are shown and there are screams of pain. The player's character then devours their bodies, accompanied by crunching noises. This is all shown from a distance and there is not much detail.
