Choo-Choo Charles is a survival shooting game that imagines Thomas the Tank Engine in a horror setting. You explore an island in an old upgradable train and hunt down Charles the evil spider train.

It's a strange mix of anthropomorphised steam engines with horrific intent. Charles is a bloodthirsty train, and you need to destroy him. To do this you must navigate a large play area in your own train.

It seems like it's all a bit silly but there are some interesting twists here. A further novelty is that you follow your winding treacherous tracks so need to plan each mission carefully. You can get out and clearing the path on foot but of course you are more vulnerable. Or perhaps you'll switch the track's direction to steer the demon Charles in a different direction.

There are modes where you go looking for materials and missions to find "Scraps". This leads to different ways to upgrade your train. You can even help out the towns people you meet in return for high powered weapons, and other items vital to Charles' destruction.
