Play OverviewPlay Overview

Cryptmaster (2024) is a creepy adventure brain game where you use words to control everything. You play by filling in the blanks by typing or speaking to uncover lost abilities, solve quests, and battle enemies. The novelty, along with the unusual combination of dungeons and spelling, is that you can pretty much type any word you want to get a response.

Explore a weird, world of mysterious underground kingdoms, talking doors, flirtatious toads and sarcastic ghouls. Interact with the world and conquer quests by typing or speaking any word you can think of because each encounter has multiple solutions.

As you progress you learn more of the nouns for the dungeon battles. You slowly decipher forgotten spells, then type their names in battle to unleash the might of your undead heroes. As you go the game evolves to create new encounters with varied mechanics: creature collecting, card combat and even a bard rap-battles.

Our examiner, Andy Robertson, first checked Cryptmaster 18 months ago. It was re-examined by Jo Robertson and updated 2 weeks ago.
