You have three lives in this game and a laser gun to shoot the alien robots and giant creatures that inhabit this world. Holding the jump button allows you to jump higher, and movement is restricted to one plane only. As you progress you can collect coins to upgrade your weaponry from various stores scattered throughout the level.
Losing all three lives returns you to the last visited store. You can find keys to unlock new areas and will eventually encounter the final boss to rid the planet of the alien robot menace. Shoot through mud walls, swim through flooded caves and unlock treasure chests while avoiding alien fire and dripping toxic slime.
It's an impressive and convincing retro style adventure with a lot of environments within a single level. Atmospheric music and bright colourful graphics and challenging gameplay make this a game not to miss.
You play as a character shooting and killing alien life and robots. Graphics are cartoon-like and do not involve blood and gore.
8+ year-olds usually have the required skill to enjoy this game. Requires controller dexterity, and a love of retro games helps.
Account RatingAccount required for online play that has 7 years old as minimum age. You must be 7 years old to have a PSN account, which is required to play Dreams. To set this up you need permission from a parent or guardian. Unless the parent or guardian specify not to restrict Network Features | Communication and User-Generated Content, or make an exception for Dreams they will only be able to access games and assets created by Media Molecule (rather than games made by the community).
This is an unusual "subscription" as you only need to purchase the Dreams game once on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5, then you can access all the games for free.
This game is free to play. Does not offer in-game purchases, 'loot boxes' or 'battle/season passes'.
As with most Dreams games you cannot save progress between sessions but Checkpoints save progress during a single session. Scores are only posted to the scoreboard if you exit through the menu.
You are required to hold down a button for jumping.
