Like Fortnite, the game is rising in popularity because of its well balanced team-based online multiplayer. Although you can play Dauntless on your own you can also team up with three other players to subdue the monsters. Players can team up regardless of the system on which they are playing.
Unlike Fortnite or Apex Legends, this is a game played collaboratively with other players against a common foe - the huge Behemoth monsters. This gives it more a sense of adventure and team-work.
For the hunting, you equip weapons and armour and pull off combo attacks to damage the creatures, while monitoring their own health and stamina gauge. The hunts can take up to twenty minutes to complete.
Cross-Platform: You can play with people on other systems: Xbox One, Switch, PC and PS4. If this includes Switch and you are not in the same room, you may want to use another means to communicate as you play, such as Discord.
