Democratic Socialism Simulator is a puzzle game where you run for office and then run a country. It offers a flow of questions with a yes or no response. Each answer has consequences in the minds of the voters and the prosperity of the country. It's an intriguing challenge that doesn't dodge political hot potatoes like Black Lives Matter or gender themes.

As you make your decisions you can click on a grid of voters to see what their concerns are and what will motivate them to like you. Through hundreds of choices based on existing policy proposals, you slowly work to win their support.

The game doesn't presuppose a particular political outlook but enables you to play with different ideologies and strategies. The whole thing is kept light hearted with a cast of extremely opinionated anthropomorphic animals asking the questions.

The developer talks about the game as a chance to see "the opportunities and challenges of a Sanders (or Sanders-like) presidency. The game aims to go beyond the personal attacks and bad faith analysis of the electoral cycle and focus on what can be concretely done once in power."
