Play OverviewPlay Overview

Disney Pixar Toy Story (2010) is a running, jumping and exploration game from the developers who went on to make Disney Infinity. It is loosely based on the film and features the voice cast from the film.

Toy Story 3 includes both a story mode that follows the film and a Toy Box mode that's a free-roaming western town that can be explored and customised. You play as Woody, Buzz, and Jessie, each with different abilities that are needed to progress. As you complete the Story Mode levels you can go back and replay Challenge modes: Cube Destruction and Time Attack.

The two-player split-screen cooperative mode is excellent for parents/carers and children to play together. The Toy Box mode is also great fun for younger players who can mess about and have fun at their own pace.

The DS, PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable versions don't have the Toy Box mode. The Wii, PC and Mac versions have more limited Toy Box features with fewer toys. The PlayStation 3 version of the game features exclusive content such as the ability to play as Emperor Zurg in Toy Box mode. It also offers PlayStation Move motion controls.

Our examiner, Andy Robertson, first checked Disney Pixar Toy Story 3 years ago. It was re-examined by Oli Hawkins and updated 10 months ago.

Skill Level

6+ year-olds usually have the required skill to enjoy this game. One family told us, "Toy Story 3 was a great introduction to my 6-year-old son's problem-solving and missions following. Arresting the bandits, zapping aliens and staging photos, we found it a great opportunity to guide Noah through the stages of play. I was always called in for speed bits other than that was mainly watching my wife and son play together like an interactive cartoon series."
