Play involves working your way through a series of single-screen levels to find your brother. Each level presents a unique challenge. Sometimes there are traps. Sometimes there are enemies to fight. Sometimes there are switches and doors. Either way, you have to use strategy and lateral thinking to succeed.
As you progress things get more complex with scrolls to decipher, levers to pull, floor plates to step on, fireballs to evade, doors to smash or to unlock, and increasingly strong enemies to kill: Zombies, Dread Beetles, Ogres, Dark Elves, Minotaurs and Dragons.
The result is a retro grid-based dungeon crawlers (think Dungeon Master, Eye of the Beholder or Legend of Grimrock) you need to use not only your weapons and spells but the environment itself to be able to advance.
