Play Overview
FlickFleet (2018) is a dexterity game where you take your space fleet into battle. You play by flicking ships and using dice to destroy your opponent. Like Subbuteo meets Star Trek, it's an epic struggle for galactic victory that plays out at the tips of your fingers.
You play as either as the galactic ruler's Imperium of Earth or the rebel group The Uprising, aiming to destroy all of your opponent's ships. You start with a fleet of 2D plastic Ships that can be flicked across the playing area in order to get them in position for an attack. Once there, you flick dice at your opponent's ships. Strike them and your dice roll deals damage, miss, and expose yourself to counter-attack.
As you progress, you encounter ships with different abilities and must adjust your tactics. The larger the ship, the more complex its weapon systems and the more difficult it is to destroy. The smaller ships are more vulnerable but more manoeuvrable.
It's a game that is both tactile and strategic. The taking aim and flicking element of the game is a real joy. Add to that the huge array of different spaceships, upgrades and systems and this becomes an epic campaign that fires both the brain and the imagination.
