Video GameFloripondis Review

Author: @GeekDadGamer and Jo Robertson.

Floripondis is a party battle where you use just left/right thrusters to move your flower around a level and collect sweets to win. Play is a simple fight to get to sweets first. However, other players and the dynamics of each level get in your way and turn the game into a knife-edge battle. It stands out for this simple compelling play along with the Monty-Python-style paper cutout visuals.

After a brief warm-up level, you compete with the other players in a series of challenges. These add different ways to win, like collecting items or stealing items from other players. They also add different physics that help and hinder movement.

The result is a really approachable game that develops into a real test of skill. The variety of the quick-to-start levels makes it ideal for groups to play together whether at a party, at home or at school.

This game has not yet been rated, but we anticipate it is likely to be rated PEGI 3.

Skill Rating

6+ year-olds usually have the required skill to enjoy this game. Really young players need to get used to the unusual controls, where each of the two buttons powers a left or right booster. The buttons need to be used together to achieve the movement you need, which can be a little frustrating at first (but is part of the fun).
