Overview
Grace's Diary is a role playing game where you play, Grace, who is concerned about her friend Natalie who's behaviour has changed since she started dating her current boyfriend. By experiencing the conversations first hand and making notes in your diary, you play a part in this branching story that address the boundaries of healthy relationships.
You investigate Grace's room to unearth memories and information in order to make that important call to Natalie. Only if you find sufficient information and make the proper choices will you have a successful conversation with your friend.
"Grace's Diary" integrates information about teen dating violence into an award winning point and click game. "I was surprised how much I learned about my own relationships as well as having some really useful conversations with my family about establishing healthy boundaries."
The game is created as part of Jennifer Ann's Group's Gaming Against Violence program. It has created over fifty serious video games about serious issues. Previous video game topics include bystander awareness, consent, healthy relationships, and teen dating violence prevention. This award-winning approach to violence prevention is evidence-based and the games are available for use in university studies. Please contact Jennifer Ann's Group to discuss research opportunities.
