Overview
Impossible Bottles is a rhythm game where you control mechanical robots. You create musical loops with each robot and solve puzzle to get them in harmony. It's a game about the global energy crisis and a scientist’s effort to provide an environmentally friendly solution through music.
An inventor combines gigantic mechanic golems to life inside terrarium-style bottles in the hope of generating enough power to satisfy global demand. You guide this genius on his quest to get his machines working by pressing buttons in time with the music.
Unlike other rhythm games, here you have to create music based on perfect loops. As you repair the machines they start to make sounds. Get these in sync and they produce a perfect, harmonious loop which then generates the electricity you need to complete the level.
Each level is split between above ground and below ground. As you start there is minimal power so everything is dark, but with each correct action things get brighter. Then, below ground, you control the scientist to solve puzzles, repairing machines and getting them working together in harmony.
Each robot you encounter represents a different decade of electronic music starting from the 1960s. The music follows those eras and develops up to the year 2050, where the ninth robot powers up rockets to Mars only to reveal the final robot in an abandoned earth “healing” our planet and returning to nature.
Impossible Bottles was originally planned for iOS and Android in 2017 but is now being revised for a new launch window.
