Kim-Joy's Magic Bakery is a card collecting game where you run a bakery in a magic forest. You play by collecting Ingredient cards, then using them to “bake” Layer cards to match customer orders. It is a team game, where your shop's capacity is the biggest limitation, so you need to work together efficiently and carefully to bake up a success.

You are trying to serve as many customers as possible before they run out of patience and leave your shop. To serve them, you use your limited number of actions to collect sequences of Ingredients and Layer cards to bake the orders. However, after every turn, another Customer card is added to the shop and when there are more than three in the shop, the first one leaves. The pressure is on to work efficiently as a team to collect the right cards and stop customers from leaving without their orders.

As you progress, you play through ten different Scenarios, which add a layer of story to the game and new rules for that round. For example, in Scenario 1, a Lazy Cat card covers some of the layers stopping you from using them until it's moved. This makes it even more important to be careful with the sequence of your limited actions (and which players are next). After each scenario, you score points for the number of customers that you serve, which are added to your overall team total.

The result is a co-operative game where discussion and teamwork are paramount. As your actions per turn are limited and customers enter the shop after every turn, you must think about which player is best to serve which customer and how you can help them to do this before they leave. This means that a simple game quickly becomes a tricky team challenge, where only the most organised succeed.
