Play Overview
Lego Duplo World (and Lego Duplo Marvel) are very simple point-and-click puzzle games. Based on the popular children's toy, it's an interactive play experience based on HeadStart’s Early Learning Outcomes Framework that encourages children to develop skills in mathematics, social interaction, memory, creativity and dexterity skills.
Play involves tapping on different parts of the screen to interact with the characters and items in the world. This causes things to happen in response to your interactions and leads children through a loose series of events. There's some light puzzle solving along the way, like throwing a boulder onto a see-saw to catapult yourself into a tree and rescue a cat (it's simpler than it sounds).
The app originally three free games (although these vary and currently only Number Train is free):
-
Number Train, that teaches basic number skills,
-
Rescue Adventure which is about creativity, social interaction and storytelling with firefighters,
-
World Animals is about a zoo and includes a memory game.
There are many more worlds you can add to the game with the in-game store. The Parent Centre in the app explains what each game is teaching, with suggestions for co-play and expanded activities outside of the game, with and without Lego Duplo. Be aware that this game is designed to be bought in small chunks, and as such can be quite costly.
In addition to the content you can purchase there are other similar apps that offer the same learning experience with a specific franchise. The first of these is Lego Duplo Marvel that offers Marvel characters and activities.
