Little Big Planet is a series of games staring the Sackboy character. They offer a multiplayer running and jumping adventure, but also enable to player to substantially edit their character and eventually make their own levels.

This creative play starts simply and is accessible to any age, but then can be made more complex and powerful so that full games can be created by dragging, dropping, connecting and shaping elements with the PlayStation controller. The levels the player creates can then be shared with the community.

It's a great way to start understanding how video games are made, even if all you do is create a rocket charged skateboard. But like the more recent incarnation, Dreams it's a powerful tool in its own right that has led to many players getting work in the games industry.
