Lulu’s Temple is a retro-inspired fast and furious action-adventure about an archeologist venturing deep into a pyramid filled with horrific creatures with only his torch and gun to protect him.

Play involves running, jumping and shooting your way through the horrifying pyramid, taking on the dangerous foes, traps and other mysteries. The way is completely dark apart from fires, explosions and the light from your torch. You can charge and throw your torch to get a glimpse of what's ahead, or use it to ignite creatures or lamps to further your field of view.

It takes the living breathing world of Spelunky or Castlevania and injects reaction based jumping and shooting like a classic arcade shoot-em-up. It's tough and heavily reliant on reflexes and skill.

The result is a game that feels like a horror movie, but not for graphic visuals or realistic foes. It uses the lack of light and the frantic pace of shooting and jumping to make it essential to tread carefully and make clever decisions.

This game has not yet been rated, but we anticipate it is likely to be rated PEGI 16.

The game includes blood and gore but only in pixelated form. It also includes a lot of swearing for comedic effect. The developer describes the game as having "badass pixel gore," and the game includes words like "damn", "crap", "*!@?*" and "*!@?*".

Skill Rating

10+ year-olds usually have the required skill to enjoy this game. Still, it's important for parents and guardians to consider the maturity required to process the game content. Provided the language isn't an issue, younger players will enjoy the unusual aesthetic, reaction challenges and spooky feel of the game.
