Play Overview
Marie's Room (2018) is a short narrative game where you revisit an unconventional friendship between two classmates. You play as Kelsey, exploring Marie's room as it was twenty years ago. But as you do, a story unfolds where something is not quite right and you work to discover what happened to Marie?
As Kelsey, you return to Marie's room that is now all packed up in boxes. Your aim is to get Marie’s journal. But picking it up brings back unsettling and confusing memories. Twenty years ago Kelsey and Marie shared this room, working on projects, nights talking about boys, pizza and sparkly shoes. Dreaming about the future, planning their life. Until one ghastly night. When it was all shattered to pieces.
Play involves investigating the things in the room to piece together what happened to Marie and Kelsey twenty years ago. You open drawers, pick up objects, hear first hand what Kelsey remembers, or read what Marie thought about it. As you puzzle the pieces together, you uncover the secrets of their friendship.
Our examiner, Andy Robertson, first checked Marie's Room 19 months ago. It was re-examined by Jo Robertson and updated 19 months ago.
