OverviewOverview

MouseCraft is a puzzle game where you guide mice to the cheese at the end of each level. Interestingly, you don't control the mice directly; instead, you place down blocks and items that can help them reach the end, in a way similar to the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series or Lemmings.

In each level, you place down Tetris-shaped blocks to help the mice span large gaps, avoid obstacles, and escape the evil robot rats. In each new level, there are new game mechanics introduced, such as different types of blocks with different properties like exploding blocks, bouncy jelly-like blocks and more. This keeps each level fresh and unique as later ones build on the previously-established mechanics, gradually increasing in difficulty.

Bonuses are awarded in each level for how many mice you rescue and how quickly you complete the level. This add replay-ability as you try band get a perfect score, and there is also a level creator, which allows you to make your own levels using all the different elements from the game, and share them with other players.

It's a unique blend of puzzle games like Tetris with platforming games such as Lemmings that makes it a novel offering in the gaming space.

AccessibilityAccessibility

While all of the text is in high contrast to the background, some of it is small, and a few sections are in a font that can be difficult to read.

You can pause the flow of time, allowing you ample time to figure out your next move without fear of the mice getting stuck.

While it's played on a 2D plane, making the goal easy to observe and the pathway readily apparent, the background features a large cat scientist that is continually moving, that come people may find distracting.

Because all the necessary information is conveyed through text or visuals, no sound is needed to pay the game well.
