Play OverviewPlay Overview

My Time At Portia (2019) is an adventure role-play game set after civilization has been destroyed, and humans are emerging from underground to rebuild society. By gathering resources, crafting and building you slowly gain the tools to collect food, store grain, chop trees and build dwellings. You do this as day turns to night and the seasons change, a little like Zelda Breath of the Wild.

A little like the old The Settlers games, you slowly create a thriving ecosystem out of nothing. As you progress you build the town, gain rewards and take on large assignments that get you venturing out beyond the city and sometimes into dungeons.

The town of Portia is full of unique characters for you to get to know. They will go to school, do their jobs, work out, and have fun. They also have unique stories for the player to experience. The player will be able to get into relationships with other townsfolk; whether they are looking for friendships, romances or even marriage. You are free to make your own mark on Portia and immerse yourself in a warm, welcoming town full of experiences.

Content Rating

Rated PEGI 7 for violence. The game contains non-realistic violence in a child-friendly setting and unrealistic violence against fantasy characters. For example, players can attack colourful llamas to get crafting material. These llamas vanish in a puff of smoke when defeated. The game also contains minor violence against human-like characters. Players can ‘spar’ with townspeople meaning they can deal out punches, none of the characters will show injuries or suffering, however.

Skill Level

7+ year-olds usually have the required skill to enjoy this game. Still, it’s important for parents and guardians to ensure they understand in-game purchases and have spending limits set-up. The simple exploration and gentle gameplay work for younger players. You do need to have some tenacity in planning and building to progress, but there's little time pressure on this. Design and layout skills also mean players can enjoy the character maker and home customisation aspects. The combat elements may require some adult input for the very young.
